Waneta Mary Schriver
Waneta M. (Thornton) Schriver of Campbell Settlement passed away February 15, 2008 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in 1926 at Temperance Vale, she was a daughter of the late James and Willa Mae (Stairs) Thornton.

She is survived by one daughter, Janice Bragdon (Lee), Campbell Settlement; three sons, Alton Schriver (Dianne), Temperance Vale, Wesley Schriver (Angela), Hartfield and Phillip Thornton (Faye), Southampton; four sisters, Edith Brewer, Central Hainesville, Deloris Kaley (Merlin), Temperance Vale, Noreen McLellan (Len), Hartland and Gwen Christie, Waterville, York Co.; four brothers, Arden Thornton (Marguerite), Delmont Thornton (Lorraine) and Zenas Thornton, all of Waterville, York Co. and Alden Thornton (Pat), Toronto, ON; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Thornton, Temperance Vale and Vesta Thornton, Sommerville; eight grandchildren, Larry Schriver (Kayla), Tammy Morrell (Wyatt), Mary Kim Schriver, Darren Bragdon (Lisa), Vicki Colford (Stephen), Laurel Bragdon (Abby), Emily Schriver and Laura Schriver; eight great grandchildren, Dexter, Jenna, Sarah, Christian, Ashtyn, Tyson, Kiersten and Logan and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Waneta was predeceased by her husband, Roy H. Schriver in 2002, two brothers, Gerald and Vernon Thornton and her step-mother, Evelyn Thornton.

Visiting hours will be held at the Temperance Vale United Pentecostal Church, 34 Pike Hill Road, Temperance Vale on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ivan Perry and Rev. Terry Brewer officiating. Interment will be later at Waterville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Waneta’s sons, Alton Schriver, PhillipThornton and Wesley Schriver and grandsons, Darren Bragdon, Laurel Bragdon and Larry Schriver.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Waneta, the family has suggested the Arthritis Society or the Diabetes Association.
