Merlyn Lloyd Scott

Merlyn L. Scott of Dumfries, NB passed away May 5, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was born in 1933 at Dumfries, NB, a son of the late Waldon and Helen (Ingraham) Scott.
Merlyn was employed for a number of years with the Department of Agriculture and later employed with Clark’s Chick Hatchery as Manager of Hatcheries in Burtts Corner and Sussex, NB and Whitburn, NL. He enjoyed woodworking and serving as caretaker of the Barony Cemetery, taking great pride in the cemetery upkeep.
He is survived by his wife, Eva (Dickison) Scott; three daughters, Myrna Currie (Brian), Burtts Corner, NB, Wanda Miller (Orland), Minto, NB and Patricia Parker (Kent), Prince William, NB; three sons, Danny Scott (Geraldine), Nackawic, NB, Timothy Scott (Mona), Dieppe, NB and Robert Scott (Janet), Dumfries, NB; sixteen grandchildren, Amanda (Jason), Maggie (Bryan), Brianne (Ben), BJ (Whitney), Jessica (Greg), James, Billie-Jo (Brian), Merrillee (Jeff), Adam (Crystal), Jennifer (Shawn), Allison (Danielle), Tricia, Kristi (Tim), Nicole (Kyle), Cameron and Raegan; a grandson-in-law, Duane; twenty-eight great grandchildren, Parker, Lena, Nevaeh, Eva, Harvick, Kimberly, Bradley, Seirra, Gavin, Aimee-Lynn, Rhett, Ellie, Layne, Jayda, Shelby, Caitlyn, Liam, Cody, Sophia, Tanner, Kyler, Daymon, Davis, Ashton, Justice, Alita, James and Brendan; several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Elsie Haines and Geraldine Scott, both of Dumfries, NB; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in the Dickison family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Melvin Scott, infant brother Arnold and a granddaughter, Katie.
Visiting hours were held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service was held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with Alice Finnamore and Rev. Charlie Thompson officiating. A reception followed in the funeral home dining room. Interment at Barony Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Karen Gillespie, Kim Muise, Misty Currie and Tina Collier.
Active pallbearers wereAunden Rae, Donnie Clark, Wallie Dewitt, Bernie Ball, Gerald Haines and Garnett Mabie.
