Muriel P. Martin of Harvey Station, NB passed away September 3, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born in Harvey Station in 1927, a daughter of the late George and Ella (Kingston) Messer. Muriel loved music and attended the local fiddle-dos. She enjoyed entertaining company and working in her vegetable and flower gardens.

She is survived by her husband, Goldie G. Martin; a son Paul Martin and his wife Karen of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; two sisters, Shirley Jamieson, Fredericton, NB and Lorraine Hickey (Mike), McAdam, NB; two brothers, Hayes Messer (Helen), McAdam, NB and Vaughan Messer (Bessie), Fredericton, NB; a sister-in-law, Kay Messer, McAdam, NB and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Muriel was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Messer and a brother-in-law, Ivan Jamieson.

Visitation was held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2412 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Monday, September 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating.
Words of Remembrance was delivered by her nephew, Rev. Terry Messer. Music was provided by the Church Choir and by congregational singing with Elaine Raymond as organist. Pallbearers were nephews, Randy Martin, Ricky Martin, Bobby Jamieson, Larry Jamieson, Terry Messer and Bruce Messer. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. A reception followed at the church.
