Grace Elizabeth Ward
1926-2010
Grace was a housewife and also employed as a nurses aide for several years at Swanhaven Nursing Home. She enjoyed bingo, trips to Prince Edward Island, her weekly trips to Fredericton for her crossword books, Tim Horton’s coffee and spending time with her cat, Baby Boy Lucky. Grace’s "two passions" in life were jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzle books. Some of her fondest memories were of times spent with family and friends, especially at Christmas time.
She is survived by her children, Frances Ward (Linda), Sharon Russell (Michael), Anne Boucher (Davis) and James Ward (Brenda); a sister, Arlene Moser; her longtime companion, Doug Perrin; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her husband, James Ward in 1962.
Visiting hours were held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service was held at Gospel Lighthouse, 1860 Highway 3, Harvey Station on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Clark and Rev. Hubert Perkins officiating. A Eulogy was delivered by her son, James Ward. Soloist was Crystal Bragdon with pianist, Wendy Perkins Cole. A reception followed in the church felowship room. Interment was in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Moser, Roger Moser, Steven Moser, Chris Simms, Matthew Simms and Bobby Jamieson.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Grace, the family has suggested the Canadian Cancer Society, the Lung Association or the Harvey Community Health Centre Foundation.
Grace’s family wish to thank the staff of the Harvey Community Health Center for the compassionate care she received while a patient there.
